Webster University is Hiring an Assistant Director of Admissions Near St. Louis, MO

Description
General Statement of Duties :
Responsible for oversight of (20 ) frontline student employees and a Department Associate who represent the University and the Office of Admissions to the fullest potential. Charged with maintaining a highly visible front door, information intensive position, responsible for first contact with students of diverse backgrounds and educational levels. Answer phone calls, emails, and maintain the Information Desk in the Welcome Center. Must be fully cross-trained and able to answer questions regarding all of the Student Services areas. Must be able to identify student needs and provide assistance with processes surrounding all aspects of educational and financial services. Must have training coaching experience.
Works with the AVP of New Student Enrollment to provide the highest level of quality in the overall Campus Visit Experience through the training of admissions staff and students who meet with incoming prospective students and families.
Provide leadership to the Welcome Center team members, including the Department Associate and approximately 20 student employee Gorlok Guides; this leadership consists of evaluation and monitoring of employee performance.
Conducting assessment of team functions.
Coordinating new and ongoing team training to ensure that staff are knowledgeable about all the functional areas supported.
Demonstrate an awareness of confidential and/or sensitive nature of issues concerning students.
Coordinating and communicating effectively with all Student Services areas to best meet students' needs.
Respond with a team approach to a broad variety of needs including serving as frontline staff in other Student Services Offices.
Prepare, maintain and update consistently the Welcome Center Policy & Procedure Manual and Training Binders.
Collaborate as liaison to counselors, directors, administrators, and faculty.
Assist in the development and presentation of special activities to promote admissions to external and internal groups.
Be available to serve as de facto Admissions Counselor to students when other staff are unavailable, providing the student visitor with the highest level of knowledge and customer service.
Work with Gorlok Guides to strengthen their role in the social media aspect of tours.
