Department: Nursing Services
Job Title: A.D.O.N.
Main Function: To plan, organize, implement, and evaluate the facility nursing services.
Reports To: Director of Nursing
Education: Graduate of a state-approved school of nursing with a temporary permit, or a license and
Current registration to practice in the state.
Experience: At least two years as a staff nurse with demonstrated professional competence, leadership,
and management skills. Gerontology experience preferred.
Responsibilities:
Processes outcomes, and implements Quality Assurance activities on the unit.
Contacts: Residents, families, physicians, other personnel and visitors.
Physical Demands: sits, stands, and walks most of the day. Occasional lifting and moving of residents. Requires good oral and visual acuity and manual dexterity. Moderate to heavy lifting.
Working Conditions: Well lighted and well ventilated areas.
Hazards: May be exposed to infections, odors, and psychobehavioral management situations.
Variables: is required to work certain weekends, holidays or different shifts when indicated. May be required to manage emergencies.

Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day.
Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.
Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility which include a medical and physical examination.
Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift.
May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
