The County of Placer, California, seeks a visionary and strategic Director of Human Resources (HR) to lead the Human Resources Department, including overseeing 57 staff, an approximate budget of $7.7 million, and oversight of $18.2 million in proprietary funds. They will build on the existing strengths of the organization while pioneering the County's innovative work in employee recognition and engagement! The role requires a creative problem-solver who will embrace new ideas and expedite the pace of programmatic changes and process improvements. While acting as a department head, they will collaborate with the County Executive Office, stakeholders, and elected officials, providing centralized services to the County's 19 departments. The ideal candidate should possess an unbiased and flexible mindset. A background in labor relations is ideal for this role, as they will actively engage with the County's recognized bargaining units - currently numbering four and likely growing to six by the end of 2024.
