Description

Valor Healthcare is seeking a Marketing & Communications Manager to drive growth and awareness, and champion our leadership principles through strategic communications programs. This role will drive the strategy and execution of key corporate communications initiatives, including internal communications, executive communications, and external communication, including digital presence, audience engagement, and online reputation management. This role has the unique opportunity to develop and amplify Valor Healthcare’s evolving corporate narrative among both internal and external audiences. A successful candidate will be a strategic thought partner who brings people together, a captivating storyteller, and a strong collaborator who can partner with various departments to ensure messaging consistency and deliver critical communications. A skilled writer with exacting standards and a talent for bringing clarity to complex issues, this person should possess a successful track record of executing programs for healthcare companies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develops and leads corporate communications strategies that elevate Valor Healthcare’s goals through thought leadership and storytelling to both internal (colleagues) and external audiences (partners, clients, and patients).

• Advises on best industry practices and build scalable, repeatable processes.

• Develops and maintains a content calendar of nationwide activities to deliver engaging, timely and compelling communication campaigns.

• Ensures communications plans are aligned internally and externally so that messages are delivered to the right people at the right time.

• Lead communication with marketing vendors for projects including graphic design, web design, strategic communications, and paid media campaigns.

• Analyzes and reports on target audience feedback, identifying opportunities to improve receptivity to messaging and overall company perception.

• Provide monthly marketing and social media reports and analysis to include statistics, performance data and other metrics to make actionable recommendations for refinement of campaigns. 

Internal Communication: 

• Develops and executes an internal communications strategy and planned campaigns that engages employees and reflects our leadership principles. 

• Delivers consistent and coherent positioning and engaging messaging for executives across multiple geographic diverse campaigns, events, and opportunities.

• Creates and executes communications strategies to support a variety of internal initiatives, such as monthly newsletter, employee program rollouts, business updates, change management programs and critical response/social impact initiatives, among others.

• Plans, writes, reviews, produces, and manages the distribution of impactful executive communications (e.g., organizational updates from executives, corporate announcements, articles for the intranet, executive presentations, etc.) through various channels (i.e., intranet, presentations, video, social channels, and written communications)

• Ensures consistency and accuracy of messages across all communications channels.

• Communicates directly with executives to understand, process, and execute on corporate and digital marketing requests.

• Participate in special projects and performs other duties as assigned

• Lead field-driven marketing campaigns and conducts on-site local training on marketing programs or solutions as needed.

• Manages unexpected communication challenges with high judgment and professionalism.

External Communication: 

• Plans, writes, reviews, produces, and manages the distribution of impactful executive communications (e.g., newsletters, corporate announcements, articles, executive presentations, etc.) through various digital channels (i.e., social media channels, website, presentations, video, and written communications)

• Support executives in preparing and delivering key communications and presentations at external events.

• Storyboard ideas and work with executives and other stakeholders to develop engaging and impactful communications – especially in the video and digital space, or direct vendors to achieve these results.

• Leverage existing design templates to create printed collateral, including flyers, sales sheets, slick sheets, leave behinds, sales reports, promotional items, and to create all digital communications. Assist with the communication and proposal development for the business development team.

• Collaborate with clients and partners to interview and produce case studies, testimonials, and references

• Curate material for the company’s and CEO’s LinkedIn pages and other social media distribution channels, including Corporate Website, Facebook, Twitter, Podcasts, etc. 

• Analyze and report on external target audience feedback, identifying opportunities to improve target audience receptivity to messaging and overall company perception, including social media comments, inquiries, reviews, etc. and employment sites such as Glassdoor, Indeed, etc. 

• Provide conference, symposium, trade show and event support as needed

• Participate in special projects and performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism or Marketing or a related field with a minimum of five (5) years of related corporate experience required. 

• Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills as well as the journalistic ability to source stories from team members. 

• Exceptional time-management, decision making and organizational skills also essential.

• In-depth knowledge of social media platforms and features and understands social media best practices.

• Demonstrated self-starter and ability to self-identify communication needs and enhancements.

• Team oriented person with a “can do” attitude and excellent relationship-building skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization

• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and work to shifting deadlines with urgency and pace.

• Experience of supporting stakeholders across multiple time zones and geographies in a matrixed organization along with experience of being part of a virtual team

• Ability to demonstrate and maintain high-level customer satisfaction.

• Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and multitask under minimal supervision.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Knowledge of and the ability to apply principles, best practices, and standards of marketing, including related laws, rules, and regulations.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook as well as SharePoint. 

• Familiar with design tools like Canva 

• Proficiency with Adobe InDesign and/or Adobe Photoshop, a plus
