Opportunity:

We’re looking for an operational pro with a strong background in accounting. For us, this primarily means becoming the authority on what we’re spending where and why as well as where revenue is coming from. The right fit will turn this knowledge into insights and actionable recommendations.

You’ll report directly to the CEO and interface with the whole leadership team. We’ll regularly look to you for help informing decisions across the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the company’s finances. Oversee financial accounts, payroll, budget, and accounts payable/receivable in conjunction with external accounting resources. Ensure compliance to company, federal, and local business requirements. Maintain speed and accuracy of billings and client payments.
• Make things count. Work with team leads to make more of what we do quantifiable. This will help the company better forecast performance and resourcing needs.
• Build company-wide goals. Collaborate with the CEO and leadership team to establish and measure monthly and annual goals, budgets, and KPIs as well as forecast resourcing needs. Work with team leads to evaluate needs and goals and ensure budgets and spending align.
• Keep stakeholders informed. Create reporting materials and presentations for a variety of
• stakeholders including company leadership, board of directors and investor base.
• Increase operational efficiency. Analyze data to provide insights, support decision-making, and identify potential risks or opportunities. Keep updated with industry best practices, recommending and implementing changes to improve financial operations and processes. Continually investigate more cost-effective processes, including benefit programs, company insurance, etc.

Skills:

• You’re no stranger to high-growth startups and have at least five years of hands-on experience in an operational or financial role.
• Accounting is your bread and butter, and you’ve got real world experience navigating challenges that might not be explained in a textbook.
• Fundraising is familiar territory for you, and you’ve worked with organizations rapidly traversing different stages of growth. You have a strong understanding of the varying needs at those stages.
• You’re comfortable contributing in high profile conversations such as board of directors meetings.
• You can build robust financial models based on a variety of variables and paths forward, and models you’ve built before have made an impact in your organizations’ trajectories.
• You’re great at finding a way to say yes, but you aren’t afraid of voicing the occasional “no”.
