The Controller will play a pivotal role in managing the financial aspects of our company, ensuring fiscal responsibility, and contributing to the overall success of our projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, budgeting, and analysis, coupled with excellent communication and organizational skills.Duties and Responsibilities 
  • Financial Management:
    • Implement effective financial controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
    • Monitor and analyze financial performance against budgets, providing timely insights and recommendations.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Collaborate with the leadership team to create detailed event budgets, considering all relevant expenses and revenue streams.
    • Conduct regular forecasting to anticipate financial needs and identify potential risks or opportunities.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable:
    • Oversee the accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments and collections.
    • Collaborate with administrative teams to streamline payment processes and optimize cash flow.
    • Review all AP entries.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Corporate month reporting: P&L / balance sheets and monthly closing.
    • Manage both owner and corporate tax payments, tax preparation in coordination with accounting firm.
    • Prepare and present detailed financial reports to management, highlighting key performance indicators, variances, and trends.
    • Provide insights and recommendations for improving financial performance and cost efficiency.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, marketing, and operations, to ensure seamless coordination between financial and operational aspects of events.
    • Provide financial guidance and support to different departments within the organization.
  • Manage the Purchasing and Travel Departments:
    • Help Purchasing develop and maintain IRFs (Infrastructure Request Forms).
    • Assist with the PO process within accounting system (Acumatica).
    • Assist Travel develop and maintain Travel forms and reconciling Amex transactions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned:
    • Manage the Amex process.
    • Review recurring month end journal entries.
    • Enter revenue recognition and accrual monthly journal entries.
    • Assist with client deliverables.
Required Qualifications 
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, Master’s degree preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
  • 5 years of proven experience as a Controller or in a similar financial management role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in financial management software and Microsoft Office suite, with an expert-level mastery of Excel.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and best practices.
  • Travel to local office weekly.

  • When traveling on event, work environment can consist of hotel rooms, a shared tour bus with a private sleeping bunk, among other possibilities.
  • Work may require between 25% travel.
