POSITION

We are seeking a Controller to join our Regeneration Schools team. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller will play a crucial role in ensuring the fiscal integrity and financial health of the organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in nonprofit accounting, financial management, and compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Financial Management

  • Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.

  • Implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and best practices.

• Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor annual budgets.

  • Provide financial forecasts and analysis to support strategic decision-making.

• Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare timely and accurate financial statements for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant regulatory requirements.

  • Capacity to manage and communicate financial performance metrics to non-financial audiences

• Cash Management:

  • Manage cash flow to ensure the organization's liquidity needs are met.

  • Implement strategies for optimizing cash management and investments.

• Audit and Compliance:

  • Coordinate and manage the annual audit process, working closely with external auditors.

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and reporting requirements.

• Grant Accounting:

  • Oversee the financial aspects of grant management, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance with grant requirements.

• Financial Analysis:

  • Provide in-depth financial analysis to support strategic initiatives and decision-making.

  • Identify areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

• Team Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor a team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.

  • Provide training and professional development opportunities to team members.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation preferred.

• Proven experience as a Controller or in a senior financial management role, preferably in the nonprofit or education sector.

• Experience managing multiple entities preferred.

• Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles, regulations, and compliance requirements.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
