Position Overview
Job Description
- Greeting visitors
- Answering telephones
- Sorting and distributing mail
- Checking out keys
- Photocopying
- Scheduling appointments
- Stocking and keeping the front desk and copy room organized
- Maintaining general tidiness in the reception area
- Running campus errands
Required Qualifications
- Non-Biology-Major
- Students majoring in biochemistry; biology; ecology, evolution, and organismal biology; human biology; microbiology; and molecular, cellular, and developmental biology are not eligible to apply
- Strong verbal and written communication skills as evidenced by application materials.
- During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: 1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or 2) be pre-enrolled in upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or 3) be enrolled in summer session or 4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a customer service environment.
- Dependability and availability to work in blocks of at least two hours.
- Availability to work over breaks and summer.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 applications, including Teams, Outlook, and Excel, as evidenced by application materials.
- Federal Financial Aid Work Study eligibility
