Trees Atlanta is a nationally recognized non-profit community group that protects and improves Atlanta’s urban forest by planting, conserving, and educating. Founded in 1985, Trees Atlanta works tirelessly to address Atlanta’s tree loss, protect its forests, and create new greenspace. Trees Atlanta is looking for an enthusiastic, committed individual who is excited to join a hard-working, mission-driven team as the Donor Relations Manager. This individual will play a key role in cultivating relationships with individual donors and growing revenue to meet the ever growing demand for our services.
You will have the opportunity to:
Lead all individual giving fundraising initiatives, including two direct appeals and GAgives on #GivingTuesday.
Oversee donor acquisition and cultivation activities, growing our donor base through careful planning, strategy, and execution.
Develop individual giving plans to grow revenue, including an acquisition strategy, stewardship plan, monthly giving circle, major gift approach, and planned giving program.
Meet with and cultivate potential donors, current donors, and Board Members to develop new relationships and strengthen existing relationships.
Support and empower members of the Board and Advisory Board to maximize their fundraising potential through training, prospect research, and developing needed tools.
Collaborate with the Development team on the strategy, planning, and execution of fundraising events, with focus on improving attendance and increasing revenue (including recruiting patrons and ticket holders for signature event, Root Ball).
Coordinate in-kind donations for Trees Atlanta events, strengthening existing relationships and developing new partnerships.
Maintain Salesforce database integrity by entering individual gifts in Salesforce and performing ongoing database maintenance.
Ensure timely and accurate gift acknowledgement through letters, handwritten cards, and thank you calls.
Utilize data to improve overall giving from individuals.
Liaise with the Finance Department regarding donor gifts and perform biweekly Finance reconciliation.
What you need:

3 - 4 years relevant experience, preferably in fundraising and nonprofit environments
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to act as an ambassador for the organization
High ethical standards, discretion, and confidentiality in working with donor information
Exceptional project management, organizational and time management skills, with an ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, seeing projects to completion on deadline and with quality
Self-motivation with the ability to work independently as well as effectively as part of a team, instilling confidence and trust among fellow staff and donors
Creativity as well as analytical ability to maximize fundraising outcomes
Flexibility and ability to adapt to shifting priorities
Prior experience with Google Workspace, Excel, Word, Salesforce, Asana and/or other CRM systems preferred
