Overview

TRC Companies is seeking a qualified and experienced Director of Human Resources in California. Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer (CPO), the Director will oversee all aspects of HR operations for CTS, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, training and development, and HR compliance. This position requires a strategic thinker with exceptional leadership skills, a deep understanding of HR best practices, and a proven track record of driving organizational success through effective HR initiatives.

This position will be based in Santa Monica and will support a hybrid work model.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with business leaders to understand organizational goals and implement corporate HR strategies to support them.
  • Lead the talent acquisition process, including workforce planning, recruitment, and onboarding, to attract and retain top talent.
  • Oversee employee relations activities, providing guidance and support to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and compliance matters.
  • Drive performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and career development planning.
  • Design and administer competitive compensation and benefits programs to ensure alignment with industry standards and employee needs.
  • Lead training and development initiatives to enhance employee skills, capabilities, and engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and update HR policies and practices as needed.
  • Foster a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the organization, promoting equal opportunities and a respectful work environment.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the HR team, fostering professional growth and development.
  • Collaborate with senior management to address organizational challenges and drive positive change initiatives.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 7 years of proven experience in HR management in California.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR)

Compensation:
In accordance with local law, the following compensation range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition: $150 - $175k. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.
