Who Are We Looking For?
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Laboratory Administrative Manager to oversee the daily administrative and managerial leadership of the diagnostic laboratory. The role involves managing various non-technical functions to ensure compliance with regulations, managing resources effectively, and facilitating communication and coordination among staff and stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee administrative functions within the laboratory, including but not limited to budget management, procurement, scheduling, and inventory control.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to establish payor (insurance) contracts for the laboratory.
  • Execute projects assigned by senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines, including safety protocols, environmental regulations, and industry-specific requirements.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to streamline administrative processes and optimize laboratory efficiency.
  • Coordinate with laboratory staff and external vendors to support ongoing projects and initiatives.
  • Manage the recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of administrative personnel.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop strategic plans aligned with our organizational goals.
  • Prepare and present reports on laboratory operations, including financial performance, resource utilization, and compliance metrics.
  • Serve as a liaison between the laboratory and other departments within the organization, as well as external stakeholders.
  • Stay informed about developments in laboratory management best practices, regulatory requirements, and industry trends.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement within the laboratory administrative team.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business administration, laboratory management, or a related discipline. California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license preferred.
  • Proven experience in laboratory administration or management, with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory operations either commercially or on-site, including knowledge of equipment, supplies, and protocols commonly used in the field.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory revenue cycle management, including insurance reimbursements, contracting and patient collections.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements governing laboratory operations, such as CLIA and CAP.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in computer software applications commonly used in laboratory and office environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the ability to motivate and develop a team of administrative professionals.
  • A commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct.
