Compensation: $125,000 - $140,000 annually;
salary commensurate with experience
Location: Hybrid Remote 80% onsite 20% WFH
Working Hours: BFY is open 365/24/7 days a year. Hours are generally Monday through Friday business
hours but may vary based on organizational needs; flexible schedule, including some nights and weekends.
Position Overview
The Bridge for Youth (BFY) centers youth voice, justice, and equity in all we do, and empowers youth
experiencing homelessness through safe shelter, basic needs, and healthy relationships. For over 50 years, The
Bridge has been at the forefront of addressing youth homelessness in Minnesota, positively impacting the lives
of the most vulnerable youth in our community, through youth-centered programs that offer a pathway out of
poverty and chronic homelessness.
The VP of Programs (VPP) is a senior executive position at The Bridge for Youth (BFY), a nationally reputable
and highly respected youth serving organization in Minneapolis. This is a new senior executive leader at BFY
who will come with 8 years of demonstrated senior executive leadership and whose purpose is to position
BFY for significant program growth and expansion per the strategic plan while assuring the continuity,
effectiveness, and impact of current programs. The VPP is an inspirational and bold visionary who has
demonstrated success in growing and building programs and teams; and will be excited about the opportunity
to make a signification contribution to a long-tenured but growing organization that serves the most
vulnerable youth in community.
The VPP reports to the organization’s President and is a senior executive leader, joining a talented six-member
executive team that is excited to co-create, collaborate, and expand its capacity through BFY's strategic plan to
address the barriers to ending homelessness for youth. The VPP directly supervises 3 directors: Clinical
Director, Monitoring & Evaluation Director, and Program Director who collectively manage the team of
program employees and interns.
The VPP has senior executive oversite of the prevention, intervention, and aftercare programs and activities
for youth ages 10 – 24 related to emergency shelter, housing, outreach, mental health, and other supportive
services. This senior leader inspires others around a vision and strategy for program improvement and
development to assure effectiveness in reducing barriers and strengthening BFY's response to youth
homelessness. The VPP is the organization’s principal liaison to government funders for contract management
and partners with the development team in securing new and current government revenue.
