VICE PRESIDENT FOR SUPPLY CHAIN

Taco John's International in St. Louis Park, MN is looking to hire a full-time Vice President for Supply Chain to lead the procurement of all food, packaging, equipment, and routine supply items for Taco John’s Restaurants. This role is expected to help identify and screen suppliers, develop strategic relationships, negotiate terms and conditions, and continuously drive improved supplier service levels through leadership and direction on a cross functional basis. This position will lead continuous improvement activities, optimizing product sourcing management, cost management, and problem resolution.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A VICE PRESIDENT FOR SUPPLY CHAIN

In this Supply Chain leadership position, you will ensure the purchasing strategy and processes align with the Company’s overall strategic direction including financial objectives, and guest experience. This role oversees commodity management, vendor selection and evaluation, contract management, competitive sourcing, and product planning. The VP for Supply Chain is responsible for conducting spend analysis, analyzing supply markets, identifying source value levers, and executing competitive RFIs/RFPs. You will manage supply agreements for Taco John’s restaurants to maximize leveraged spending initiatives that benefit both brands. This position is responsible for evaluating and developing strategic supplier relationships, overseeing contract negotiations, and implementing processes for monitoring performance, assessing risk, and responding to changes in demand or disruptions in the supply chain. The VP for Supply chain leads ongoing efforts to achieve continuous improvement of the supply chain function through evaluation of new technologies and industry best practices. This role will ensure compliance with our food standards and will provides routine reports including periodic cost variance reports, commodity position reports, and contract summaries. The VP for Supply Chain will directly supervise the Sr. Purchasing Manager, Purchasing Manager and Distribution Manager, and will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A VICE PRESIDENT FOR SUPPLY CHAIN

• Ten years of experience (or combination of education and experience) in supply chain strategy, product management, strategic sourcing, and procurement. Supply chain certification a plus.
• Commanding knowledge of supply chain management fundamentals including economics, commodities, and supplier oversight.
• Significant prior experience with managing franchisee and supplier relationships
• Thorough understanding of foodservice purchasing and distribution systems, in addition to detailed knowledge of food and packaging suppliers, product quality attributes and cost structures.
• Outstanding leadership skills with the ability to coach and development a team.
• Thorough knowledge of food commodity markets and hedging/forward buying techniques.
• Thorough knowledge of product quality specifications.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong presentation skills.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Must be capable of travel (approximately 10%).
• Intermediate level of computer skills including Microsoft Outlook Excel, Word, Power Point applications.
• Proven analytical and organizational skills and possess the ability to identify and implement process improvement strategies with positive business results.
• High level of confidentiality to ensure proper handling of sensitive information.
