POSITION PURPOSE

The Financial Analyst will provide data-based information on a company's profitability, solvency, stability, and liquidity. The FA will create reports, monitor financial movements, research, and analyze financial information to help the company make well-informed decisions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Employee shall perform all duties and responsibilities with Sunland's Core Values at the forefront.
  • Must be an advocate of safety and follow safety policies and procedures.
  • Master Budget, Financial Model and Reporting Analyses
  • Maintain up-to-date budget, actual and forecasted values for the company's P&L, Cash Flow Statement, Balance Sheet, and Fixed Assets
  • Modify and improve the financial model infrastructure as necessary.
  • Present updated model and relevant reports to management on a monthly / quarterly basis or upon request
  • Assist in division and department annual budget preparation efforts.
  • Conduct division and department level quarterly forecast process
  • Analyze sales, customer, cost, and vendor performance trends and analysis.
  • Assemble KPI and reporting packages for management and the board of directors.
  • Issue quarterly compliance certificates and supporting financial reports/data to lenders.
  • Drive process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact key finance areas.
  • Financing Oversight & Analysis
  • Know and understand equipment financing, commercial banking, lender, and investor relationships and agreements including positive and negative covenants.
  • Research, compare and validate new financing partners as necessary.
  • Prepare all monthly financial reports and covenant compliance certificates.
  • Quarterly Board of Director Meeting Preparation
  • Prepare the financial performance data, reports, and quantitative analytics for each board meeting.
  • Perfect the data and analytics in to an easy to follow, consumable format.
  • Provide commentary on variance analyses.
  • Reporting & Analysis
  • Report on and analyze Revenue, COS, GP, EBITDA, Net Income, G&A Activities, etc., by month, quarter, and annually.
  • Report on and analyze key Operations KPI's, orders, sales pipeline, production, etc., by month, quarter, and annually.
  • Analyze historical and current financial data to understand the company's financial status.
  • Consolidate and analyze financial data (budgets, income statement forecasts etc.) considering company's goals and financial standing.
  • Implement and maintain data quality controls measures.
  • Report and analyze monthly sales production by division, customer, job type, service, etc.
  • Assemble and summarize data to structure sophisticated reports on financial status and risks.
  • Identify ways to improve the use of applications and data throughout the company.
  • Provide creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance.
  • Other pertinent business data analysis related to KPIs.
  • Any, and all other duties assigned. SAFETY

  • This is not considered a safety-sensitive position but is subject to the company's drug and alcohol policy, as well as all OHSA regulations.
  • All employees must wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.
  • Serves as a safety ambassador by complying with federal, state, and local laws, as well as Company safety policy, enforces safe work practices, and proactively identifies and remedies worksite hazards.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This position operates in a professional office environment that routinely uses standard office equipment requiring the ability to communicate in person and over the telephone with other employees, the ability to interpret printed materials and a computer screen, the stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, the ability to lift and carry supplies and files weighing up to 10 pounds and to move about the inside of the office to access supplies, office machinery, etc.
  • May be required to work on a project site and if so, would be exposed to all weather, including extreme hot and cold temperatures.
  • Employee might be exposed to various chemicals, vapors, pollutants, virus or other air-borne pathogens, gases, uneven surfaces, loud noises, moving vehicles or machines and dust/debris.

POSITION TYPE/ EXPECTED HOURS

  • This is a full-time position. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

TRAVEL

  • Minimal travel required with advanced notice.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Work Experience

  • Expert Excel skills including pivot tables and charts, lookups / Index Match, and other advanced formulas and functions.
  • Advanced PowerPoint skills including the ability to succinctly communicate complex data and information in a graphical, easy to digest, format.
  • Knowledge of PowerBI
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Business Administration or related field
  • At least 4 years of professional experience in either financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, investment banking/private equity, or public accounting preferred
  • Excellent reporting, presentation, and communication skills
  • Strong ability to communicate to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinking and organizational skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Proven proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, and financial software applications
  • Innovative in constructing more efficient ways to collect, report and analyze data.
  • A strong ability to grasp the dynamic relationship of the business, markets, and financials.
  • Critical thinker who proactively anticipates problems and is solution oriented in approach.
  • Proven knowledge of financial forecasting and diagnosis, finance, and information analysis

Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations

  • A valid driver's license, and a clean motor-vehicle record, preferred.
  • Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and background check is required.
