Salary: $2,468 - $3,324 semi-monthly

Job Location: This position is with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Division of Missouri Geological Survey, and will be located at 1101 Riverside Drive, Jefferson City, MO in the Lewis and Clark State Office Building. This position is eligible for distributed work per Department policy.

What you’ll do:

• Staff Supervision – Supervising responsibilities will be over three Environmental Program Specialists, one Environmental Program Assistant one Program Specialist and a Administrative Support Professional.
• Participate and plan in technical meetings, public meetings, site visits, and other field activities.
• Budget and Fiscal Management - Responsible for the development of the annual program budget (over $60 million) and fiscal notes. Responsible for appropriation sent to the 114 SWCD for SWCD staff salary, staff benefits including health insurance and retirement, technical and administrative expenses.
• Manage audits of soil and water conservation districts (SWCDs). Work with the Department's Internal Audit Program for audits they perform, for bidding external audit companies that complete financial audits of SWCDs, and to set up the schedule of audits for each fiscal year.
• Coordinate the IT needs for SWCP staff and staff in the 114 soil and water conservation districts, including computer replacement for state and district staff, internet/WIFI issues, printers, software, etc. Serves as SWCP representative on the DNR IT Committee.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 6 or more years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid vehicle operator’s license.
• Self-motivated and able to perform field activities without assistance or support.

Preferred Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Education and/or experience in and agricultural related field.
• Commitment to customer service.
