The Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) is the agency charged with licensing and regulating State of Florida businesses and professionals, such as cosmetologists, veterinarians, condominiums, hotels and restaurants. Our mission is to license efficiently and regulate fairly, and we strive to meet this goal in our day-to-day operations.

The work you will do:

This position is located within the Bureau of Compliance of the Division of Condominiums, Timeshares and Mobile Homes. This in-office position is a part of the education team, and is responsible for providing education to the public, presenting material to the public relating to the division’s jurisdictional areas, creating and updating new and existing materials for the public, as well as materials for internal training, participating in public seminars, reviewing for approval of board member certification course materials and conducting public outreach.

Simplified Overview:

The incumbent in this position is responsible for educating the public regarding condominium, cooperative and timeshare associations. This includes:

  • Creating PowerPoint presentations that include educational material regarding the Division’s program areas;
  • Speaking with constituents in person and telephonically to provide education regarding the Division’s program areas;
  • Conducting outreach to the surrounding areas regarding the education program;
  • Presenting to the public in-person and virtually;
  • Assisting with the development of the Division's brochures, manuals, newsletters and educational materials.
  • Assisting with the research, preparation and dissemination of educational materials. 
  • Communicating with supervisor on a daily basis.
  • Performing other work as required.

Minimum Requirement:

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; OR
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university and two years’ experience in training and/or conducting investigations; OR
  • Seven years of professional or technical experience in training, teaching and/or conducting investigations.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Must be amenable to drive to events in the surrounding area.
  • Must be amenable to overnight and weekend travel.

Preference will be given to applicants:

  • With presenting to the public.
  • With strong technical skills.
  • Who are bilingual in both English and Spanish.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication.
  • Knowledge of instructional design, research, and implementation of said methods.
  • Ability to conduct research.
  • Ability to present to the public.
  • Ability to develop new methods and techniques of training.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable statutes and rules relating to the development of training programs.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.
  • Skilled with attention to detail and critical thinking.
  • Skilled with strong oral and written communication. 
  • Skilled with customer service etiquette.
