Job Description:
Grant Writers are professionals who create application documents and proposals for grant programs. They organize information about organizational activities and projects and draft grant proposals in appropriate formats. They are expected to be familiar with the grant application process and effectively communicate the value and needs of the program in persuasive writing.
The Grant Specialist Intern will work under the direct supervision of the organization's President. Responsibilities include providing specialized and complex administrative support; a collection of data; and client and program assistance related to the grant programs funded at the federal, state, and local levels. Work involves considerable contact with City departments and representatives of the general public, governmental agencies and their representatives, and community or civic organizations. Work is reviewed for attaining desired management objectives and conformity with established administrative and departmental policies and procedures through conferences, observation, reports, and via program effectiveness and efficiency.
