The Agency for Health Care Administration is Florida's chief health policy and planning entity and is responsible for the licensure and regulation of nearly 50,000 health care facilities.

Position Overview:

This is complex health care regulatory work reviewing programs, developing policies and project tracking, analyzing data, compiling reports, drafting, and editing written material, and researching information at the direction of the Senior Management Analyst II in the Bureau of Health Facility Regulation (HFR).

Provides technical assistance, and coordinates division wide activities related to rule development and rulemaking publications in the Florida Administrative Register, legislation, web updates, emergency planning and data systems. Prepares and compiles data on the management of projects and provides a comprehensive overview with up-to-date information on all projects for the HFR bureau.

Reviews health care provider programs, regulations, and data to prepare materials relating to special projects and information requests from the direct supervisor and/or the HFR Bureau Chief, Agency leadership, or the Governor's Office. This includes facilitating intra- and inter-agency meetings, preparing memos and reports, reviewing project drafts, ensuring timely submission of information from the bureau, monitoring deadlines, and tracking projects to ensure Agency leadership is aware of key ongoing projects and information requests.

Researches, reviews, and analyzes data; manages projects and prepares reports related to administrative and health care regulatory duties and planning issues.

Serves as staff to agency advisory groups as assigned by the Senior Management Analysts II or Bureau Chief. Serves as a liaison with other offices within the agency, health care provider associations, and other individuals and organizations related to health planning and regulatory activities. Represents the Agency in public meetings and forums and develops presentations for both the public and agency staff upon request.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

Four (4) years of professional experience in health care administration, health care planning, health care regulation, or other health or rehabilitation program. Professional experience that includes the review, analysis and implementation of health care requirements is preferred.

A degree from an accredited college or university that included a major study in health care administration, business administration, public administration, public health administration or a health care related field can substitute for up to two years of the required work experience.

At least two years of professional regulatory experience.
