In this fast-paced manufacturing environment, the Accounting Manager must be competent and understand complex transactions. They should be able to manage their time, meet deadlines and deliver high quality results. With oversight over the monthly close process including the accounts receivable and accounts payable staff and processes, the Accounting Manager must also have strong written and verbal communication skills, be well organized, and possess a strong sense of ownership, attention to detail and urgency.

Scope & Responsibilities

• Oversee and contribute to the month end and year end close
• Manage the accounts receivable and accounts payable staff
• Own the accuracy of the balance sheet
• Perform Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations
• Maintain Fixed Assets and CIP Projects
• Ensure Intercompany activity is properly recorded
• Assist in managing and analyzing inventory
• Calculate Rebate and Commission accruals
• Assist in the annual financial statement (GAAP) and tax audits
• Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
• Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
• Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
• Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expense journal entries by compiling and analyzing account information
• Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies

Competencies/Minimum Requirements

• Education: BS degree in Accounting is required.
• CPA required.
• Previous Work Experience: 8-10 years of general accounting experience, either in a public accounting firm or in a private corporate manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Proficient in excel and other MS Office products.
• Familiarity with accounting software and programs.
• Experience with ERP or systems implementation a plus.
• Results oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
• Superior analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus.
• Ability to manipulate large amounts of data.
