Position Overview
Under the General Direction of the Domestic Controller, the Accounting Manager is responsible for managing general ledger, financial reporting and analysis, year-end audit and providing support on budget preparation for all U.S entities except Stoller International Inc. Functional areas include, but are not limited to, general ledger, fixed assets, financial reporting and analysis, treasury, accounts payable and accounts receivable. The Accounting Manager will supervise 3 accountants and is responsible for managing and training the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
- Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
- Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.
- Prepare monthly operational reports.
- Supports budget and forecasting activities.
- Collaborates with the other finance department managers to support overall department goals and objectives.
- Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.
- Work and support on the year end audit.
- Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
- Provide training to new and existing accountants.
- Support Corporate and Domestic Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements.
- Ad hoc projects/requests.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 10 years of relevant accounting experience with at least 5 years in a Leadership or Manager role
- U.S. GAAP required
- Advance MS Excel skills. Experience with accounting software (preferably Oracle & Hyperion).
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 10lbs.
