We are hiring an Accounting Manager based in our Austin, TX or Houston, TX office The Accounting Manager compiles and analyzes financial results and prepares the consolidation of financial statements. You will support the Director of Accounting to validate the quality and integrity of financial data, perform complex financial accounting transactions, and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting principles. What You Will Do: Supervise accounting staffReview and approve journal entries and construct high level, complex journal entries, while ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as well as internal accounting policies Responsible for the month end close process, timely account reconciliations, and KPI tracking in collaboration with the Director of Accounting Identify and make recommendations on process improvements Assist with interim and year-end audits by collecting and validating data, providing documentation and responding to inquiries What You Will Bring: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 5 years of experience in a similar accounting role Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills Ability to manage and support fellow team members through the sharing of knowledge and training Analytics and organizational skills coupled with the ability to manage time effectively Experience in homebuilding or construction industry preferred Why Join Empire?
