We have an upcoming need for a Senior Budget Analyst with professional, interpersonal and analytical skills to help our clients identify and solve their complex challenges. The best candidate enjoys working creatively with and actively contributing to their team to transform their clients business processes, improve efficiency of operations, strengthen internal controls and ultimately achieve their strategic mission and objectives. This position will support the Department Homeland Security (DHS) Federal Protective Service (FPS). FPS is the law enforcement agency of DHS that protects public servants and their customers in facilities where the government conducts business.
This position will be responsible for: Budget Support Services - Supporting throughout the entire Federal budget process from formulation, to spend plan creation, to executing the current fiscal year budget. Providing program & sub-component level support in budget formulation and execution for the cradle to grave budget cycle. Budget formulation and execution, financial analysis, federal accounting and auditing, process analysis, training development and delivery, oral and written communication. This position is contingent on contract award.
Minimum Requirements:
8 years demonstrating proficiency in developing and owning work products in Microsoft office suite to include Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, portraying an ability to work independently, maintain attention to detail, and maintain a high standard for work products.
5 years professional experience with project management and program analysis, with hands on experience presenting information verbally and facilitating discussions with representatives from all levels of an organization.
8 years professional experience working in teams, demonstrating interpersonal, team-building, critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
5 years professional experience with Federal budget formulation, financial policy and procedures, research and analysis, recommendations for business process improvements, financial analysis, reconciling financial reports, performing validation and verification of accounting records, analyzing estimates and accruals and other financial related business efforts and activities.
Ability to attain a public trust security clearance.
Professional experience working with Federal business systems related to accounting, accountability and financial reporting procedures with the Federal agencies.
Professional experience working with Federal agencies in a financial management and/or accounting capacity.
Geographic requirements
This is a hybrid position. Candidate must be in the Washington D.C. area or be willing to relocate. Expectation is 2 days a week in office in Washington D.C.
Educational requirements:
A Masters degree is required in one of the following disciplines: Finance, Accounting, Business, or related discipline (a Doctorate degree is preferred). Twelve (12) years work experience may be substituted for a masters degree.

Relevant financial certification:
Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM)
Certified Defense Financial Management (CDFM)
Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Professional experience and/or coursework in data analytics or data visualization tools to include MS Excel, Tableau, Qlik, SQL, and/or creating macros.
Professional experience and/or coursework in accounting and/or financial management.
Experience with business process re-engineering/optimization to include documenting current procedures, conducting gap analysis to identify inefficiencies, identifying key performance metrics.
