Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is Hiring a BUDGET ANALYST Near Washington, DC

Position: Budget Analyst, GS-12/13

Division: Intelligence Branch (IB)

Unit: Intelligence Resources Unit (IRU)

Location: Washington, DC

Working Hours: 8:00am to 4:30pm (flexible)

Salary: GS-12 $99,200.00 - $128,956.00

GS-13 $117,962.00 - $153,354.00

Full Performance level: GS-13

Number of Positions Available: 1

Duration: Full Time/Permanent

Additional selections may be made from this announcement to fill positions within the same division when the position includes substantially the same duties, responsibilities, and qualifications.

Key Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must be able to obtain a Top Secret-SCI clearance
  • Some travel may be required

Mission Statement:

The mission of the FBI is to protect the American People and uphold the Constitution of the United States.

Major Duties:

  • Analyze, track and execute resources in support of the Intelligence Branch programs and mission oriented initiatives.
  • Develops and presents detailed budget execution reporting material; and ensures accuracy to support the in-depth review.
  • Provides advice, guidance, and recommendations to program managers on the development of the Zero Based Resource Allocation (ZBRA).
  • Proficiently use Microsoft Excel to manage appropriated funds by tracking and reconciling commitments, obligations, and expenses compared to FBI’s financial reports and ZBRA.
  • Generates and analyzes various financial reports from the Financial Reporting Application (FRA) tool and Unified Financial Management System (UFMS).
  • Responsible for reviewing and approving TRIP requests; verifies travel expenses adhere to Federal Travel regulations.
  • Works with assigned CORs to obtain service contract year to date burn rates, discusses personnel changes and estimated option year costs.


Qualifications and Evaluations

Specialized Experience (SE):

GS-12: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. SE is defined as follows:

  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in creating presentations; preparing formal and informal financial reports, correspondence, briefings, charts, tables and graphs for executive management use.

GS-13: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level. SE is defined as follows:

  • Experience in analyzing, tracking and executing resources with little to no supervisory oversight.
  • Experience using critical thinking to provide advice, guidance, and recommendations to management.
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in creating presentations; preparing formal and informal financial reports, correspondence, briefings, charts, tables and graphs for executive management use.
