Self-Realization Fellowship is Hiring a Remote Development Manager - Enterprise Applications (Remote CA, CO, TX or AZ)

Self-Realization Fellowship, the non-profit Yoga organization founded by Paramahansa Yogananda (Autobiography of a Yogi), is seeking a Development Manager - Enterprise Applications to work in our Digital Services Department. This exempt, full-time position is remote (must reside in CA, CO, TX or AZ).

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required
  • 10 years of professional experience in software development required, preferably in progressive management roles, overseeing development teams.
  • Demonstrated successful supervisory experience.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing geographically distributed remote teams across time zones development teams in an enterprise setting.
  • Strong technical background with proficiency in various programming languages (.Net, JavaScript preferred) and development tools.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing and supporting enterprise applications such as CRM, ERPs, distribution and logistics systems, API gateways, customer support/ call center systems and others.
  • Expertise in software development methodologies, architecture, and design patterns.
  • Experience leading cross-disciplinary, cross-functional enterprise application development and/or implementation of commercial software impacting multiple business units.
  • Experience in cloud technologies, and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with evaluating solutions in a systematic manner and recommending the right solution to meet the needs of the organization.
  • Solid track record of delivery in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with delivering projects using Agile methodology, and experience with all aspects of software development lifecycle.
  • Scrum Dev Manager training or certification is a plus.
  • Experience in industry standard DevOps tools such as Jira, Azure Dev Ops.
  • Knowledge of best practices in quality assurance, security, and compliance.
  • Proven leadership and interpersonal skills to motivate, collaborate with and manage a diverse team of engineers, functional SMEs, business teams, and external partners.
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills; ability to articulate information in a professional manner to individuals at all levels, and with both internal and external partners, and the ability to represent SRF adequately when dealing with the external partners.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead Application Development: Take charge of the end-to-end software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis to deployment and maintenance, for enterprise-level applications, Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications that includes new solutions and enhancement of existing systems.
  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership and manage the work activities of direct reports as well as consultant and volunteer project team members, fostering collaboration, growth, and productivity. Provide mentorship and guidance to and set clear performance expectations for the direct reports.
  • Technical Expertise: Maintain an up-to-date understanding of emerging technologies and industry best practices to guide technology decisions and ensure the team follows coding standards and practices. A passion for all things tech and a drive to experiment with new technologies to see where they can benefit the organization.
  • Architecture and Design: Drive the design and architecture of applications, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability. Analyze business requirements and identify the right technology solutions to meet the needs of the organization. Partner with leaders of other disciplines to ensure proposed solutions align with information, technology, infrastructure, business and security architectures.
  • Project Management: Collaborate with other departments and key IT stakeholders to plan, prioritize, and schedule applications development and enhancement requests, while providing direction and guidance to the applications development staff.
  • Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure the delivery of reliable and high-quality software applications. Implement best practices for testing and code review.
  • Communication: Act as a bridge between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, translating business requirements into technical solutions and providing regular project updates.
  • System performance and maintenance: Accountable for availability and performance of applications portfolio, including ownership of incidents and release management.
  • Documentation: Ensure that project documentation, including technical specifications, user manuals, and change logs, are accurately maintained and readily accessible.
  • Standards and Best Practices: Provide oversight in standards adherence through reviews of project work including detailed technical specifications and application code.
  • Compliance and Security: Ensure that applications meet regulatory compliance and security standards, and implement measures to protect sensitive data.
  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with third-party vendors and manage vendor relationships when necessary for software development projects.
  • Ability to honor and maintain a strict level of confidentiality.
  • Responsible to follow SRF’s policies and established processes.
  • Other position-related tasks, as assigned.

Additional Details:

This is an exempt, full-time remote position. We are accepting applicants who reside in California, Colorado, Texas or Arizona.

Able to work a flexible schedule based on workload and deadlines.

Satisfactory completion of organization’s background investigation.

Must sign an employee confidentiality agreement.

No reimbursement for relocation cost offered for this position.

Required Travel: 0 – 20%
