Safer Foundation is Hiring a Supportive Services Manager Near Chicago, IL

The Safer Foundation is a social service provider to individuals with arrest and conviction records. Through a full range of services, including case management, educational instruction and advocacy, we focus on preparing individuals for the world of work by helping them find and keep productive and meaningful employment.

General Summary:

This position reports to the Director of Supportive Reentry Services, the Supportive Services Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of referrals from direct reports and facilitating anger management classes at the Adult Transition Centers (ATC’s) and our downtown location or Belmont Cragin office as needed. The Supportive Services Manager is responsible for completing timely documentation, to include assessments and enter data into the ECM system.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Stakeholder Interface

  • The Supportive Services Manager will supervise the Title XX team.
  • This role will be responsible for facilitating anger management classes at ATC’s and our downtown location or Belmont Cragin office as needed.
  • The Supportive Services Manager is responsible for completing timely documentation, to include assessments and enter data into the ECM system.
  • The Supportive Services Manager will work collaboratively alongside all internal Safer Foundation business units Directors and Managers.
  • The Supportive Services Manager will work to identify ongoing methods to increase efficiency in preliminary service delivery using data reporting.
  • The Supportive Services Manager will maintain current knowledge of all Safer Foundation programs.
  • This role will be responsible for developing and implementing the policies and procedures, including day-to-day prioritization and delegation of tasks and maintenance.
  • Attends training to improve knowledge of the field and evidenced-based interventions, concepts, and practices. 

Stakeholder Outreach and Recruitment

  • Acts as a liaison to other programs internally, soliciting feedback from individual programs and working alongside them to solve problems.
  • Attend and participate in relative conferences, webinars, and presentations.

Tracking, Document, and Reporting

  • Assists the Director Supportive Reentry Services in the compilation, analysis, and reporting of outcomes and data integrity, including reporting metric definitions (when applicable)
  • Meets all agency, program, contract, grant, and licensing standards, and policy compliance.
  • Gather, synthesize, and present all relevant programmatic data for grant reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
  • Work alongside the Quality Assurance Administrator in developing and integrating internal audit tools for Title XX staff to monitor their client files.
  • Work alongside Director of Supportive Reentry Services, Salesforce administrator, Systems Analytics, and Sr. Director of Operations, and monitoring reporting dashboards every month. 

Fiscal Reporting and Accountability

  • Participates in department budget preparation and reviews, responsible for budget implementation and adherence.
  • Order supplies as necessary and within the program budget, gauging total amounts allocated, needs, and availability of funds. 
  • Assuring (in conjunction with the Compliance Manager and Quality Assurance Administrator all services are provided in compliance with regulatory, contractual, and revenue cycle requirements).

Supervision of People

  • Hires, trains, coaches, and evaluates Title XX staff including holding staff accountable through performance metrics and meeting departmental and individualized professional goals; holds staff accountable for meeting individual and program performance objectives.
  • Provides individual supervision for Title XX staff, in resolving issues related to IT, screening challenges, etc.
  • Train and supervise staff on proper documentation, procedure, and protocol; troubleshoot issues and coach on performance. Elevate issues requiring structural changes or input up to the supervisor as necessary. 
  • Complete mid-year and annual performance reviews, and corrective action plan when necessary, review and approve timecards and request time off and expense reports promptly.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences and/or Criminal Justice preferred. May be substituted with 4 years of experience with program operations.
  • Knowledge of the reentry process and cross-sectoral barriers faced by individuals upon release.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), computational, and customer service skills.
  • Previous experience documenting services in an electronic case management system desired. 
  • In-depth practical knowledge of HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 preferred
  • At least two years of experience performing administrative duties.
  • Passion for social justice and start-ups
  • At least 2 years of experience working with the justice-involved population.
  • Strong track record in managing a comprehensive and complex array of projects with intellectual curiosity, attention to detail, and a results-oriented approach. 
  • Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team approach model, taking individual responsibility and autonomy while also working well in roles leading and serving as part of a diverse team.
  • Able to operate in a fluid environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.)
  • Experience in conflict resolution and de-escalation
  • Ability to effectively supervise and direct other staff members.
  • Ability to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Must display a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment toward completing assignments efficiently.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to effectively multi-task and meet deadlines.

Requirement:

  • Certification and Training: Anger management certification required.
