The Accounts Receivable Specialist will be involved with both operational and financial aspects of our organization. This role is responsible for the firm's accounts receivable processes, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, tracking and reconciling payments, and addressing any discrepancies. Additionally the role performs general accounting duties to support the organization. The ideal candidate will be skilled in financial processes, including billing, collections, and account reconciliation, with a solid foundation in general accounting principles. This position requires a hands-on individual that possess a keen attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication abilities. Hybrid work schedule available.

Accounts Receivable Specialist Responsibilities

• Invoicing: Generate and distribute accurate and timely invoices to clients. Assist with the firm’s invoice workflow process.
• Client Account Maintenance: Monitor and reconcile client accounts, ensuring timely and accurate recording of client payments and process approved credits.
• Communication: Collaborate with internal teams and external clients to address inquiries and resolve payment-related issues.
• Reporting: Prepare and present accounts receivable reports to management, highlighting key metrics, including client accounts with delayed payments, non-payments, and other irregularities.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in the accounts receivable and billing functions.

Accounting Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, assisting the Financial Management Team with the timely completion of the month-end and year-end close cycle.
• Review general ledger, ensuring transactions are coded to appropriate general ledger account.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including assisting with monthly bank reconciliations.
• All other duties as assigned.

Accounts Receivable Specialist Preferred Experience/Background/Skills

• Proven experience in a position with similar duties.
• High degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
• Must be comfortable with phone calls and responding to clients timely.
• Ability to work independently and under deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strict adherence to professional ethics and confidentiality.
• Ability to use accounting information systems, Excel and other supporting software; comfortable with technology.
