POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Sr. Staff Accountant reports to the Assistant Controller. The ideal candidate for this role should be a detail-oriented, analytical, mathematically inclined personality who is a strong individual contributor always seeking innovations and improvements. The Sr. Staff Accountant should be able to prioritize workload across multiple functional areas while attaining efficient and exceptionally accurate results.
Key responsibilities include:
• Assist in documentation of workflow, procedures, checklists, and policies for assigned areas of responsibility.
• Assist in preparation of internal monthly, quarterly, and annual operating reports.
• Assist in preparation of internal monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidation and financial reports.
• Assist in preparation for annual external audit.
• Assist in the budget & reforecast process, maintaining related information in the accounting system.
• Track expenses and revenues vs. budget and reforecast and analyze fluctuations, providing analysis of profit and cost efficiencies in various areas of the organization as needed.
• Assist in compiling, reviewing, and submitting daily, weekly, and other periodic compilation and reporting of data for each pool of Royal Cup inventory.
• Develop a complete understanding of the costing of raw materials to finished goods process.
• As needed, create, monitor, and post accruals and other recurring and period journal entries.
• As needed, perform accounting closing duties, including sub ledger account & general ledger reconciliations.
• As needed, develop, maintain, and distribute ad-hoc reports and financial models.
• Provide on-going project management support and analysis across the Accounting & Finance function.
All other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting/Finance or related Business Discipline is highly preferred. Minimum of 1 year of experience with:
- Multi-state business property taxes and business licenses
- Property tax, business license and financial audits
- Filing census, multi-state property taxes and other annual report filings.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with:
- GAAP financial reporting, consolidation, and financial analysis.
- Experience in food & beverage distribution or manufacturing industry preferred.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills, including presentation skills and building diplomatic relationships with all employees at any level, including leadership/ supervisory skills.
- Minimum of intermediate to advanced capabilities with large-scale ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP or similar systems, Hyperion reporting software and the Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Excel & Access).
- Results focused with an analytical approach to problem solving.
- Proven experience excelling in a fast-paced environment, handling pressure well and being self-motivated to maintain organization and prioritize work, ensuring deadlines are met.

- Ability to decipher trends.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify best case solutions.
