POSITION ROLE

The Senior Accountant plays a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of an organization. This position requires a high level of expertise in accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. The below description is intended to provide a comprehensive overview of the responsibilities and qualifications expected. Specific duties may vary.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Leads the maintenance of the general ledger and ensures regular ledger maintenance occurs; sets up new entities and updates the chart of accounts.
2. Prepares journal entries to correctly code and record credit card expenses and management fees and other intercompany transactions.
3. Maintains cash schedules to assist in the proper reporting of cash receipts and revenue, cash position and bank limits.
4. Collaborates with the Controller and other finance team members to provide leadership in monitoring the month end close schedule and facilitating month-end close processes.
5. Creates financial statements and necessary supporting schedules to assist with analyzing operations for multiple entities.
6. Assists with monthly, quarterly variance analysis to monitor budget pacing for multiple entities.
7. Participates with external audit(s) through record retrieval and process demonstration for auditors.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

To be qualified, the Senior Accountant must have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university, and;
• Five years or more Accounting experience in a health care setting preferred.
