VuePoint Diagnostics is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Healthcare Accountant to join our team. As a Senior Medical Accountant, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the financial operations of our healthcare organization, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. Your expertise in healthcare finance and accounting principles will be crucial in ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls specific to the medical industry to promote efficient financial management.

2. Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.

3. Manage and lead the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets for the organization, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

4. Perform financial analysis and forecasting to support strategic decision-making and identify areas for improvement or cost-saving opportunities.

5. Monitor and analyze key financial metrics, such as revenue, expenses, and profitability, to assess the financial health of the organization and ensure adherence to budgetary targets.

6. Coordinate and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, such as medical coding and billing guidelines, Medicare/Medicaid regulations, and HIPAA.

7. Collaborate with other departments, such as operations, billing, and revenue cycle management, to streamline financial processes and resolve discrepancies.

8. Stay up to date with industry trends, changes in healthcare regulations, and accounting standards to ensure compliance and implement best practices.

10. Facilitate external audits and work closely with auditors to provide necessary documentation and address any audit findings or recommendations.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification preferred.

2. Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with at least 2 years in a medical or healthcare setting.

3. In-depth knowledge of healthcare accounting principles, medical coding and billing practices, and regulations.

4. Strong understanding of financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.

5. Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems, such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.

6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

7. Ability to interpret and apply accounting standards and regulations within the medical industry context.

8. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

10. Strong ethics and integrity, maintaining confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
