Responsibilities:
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the building and common areas.
- Perform routine building maintenance tasks such as sweeping, mopping, floor stripping floor waxing, and dusting.
- Garbage removal, empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste properly.
- Clean and sanitize garbage shutes and compactor rooms as needed.
- Miscellaneous projects or assignments as required by the Superintendent &/or Property Manager.
- Report any maintenance or repair issues to the Superintendent &/or Handyman.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a porter or in a similar role is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of basic maintenance tasks and cleaning techniques.
- Ability to properly use and get on ladders of various sizes.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks and lift heavy objects if necessary. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs at a time.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Please note that this position may require working weekends, or holidays based on the needs of the building. Residential building experience preferred.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check.
