Description
Responsibilities:
Client Engagement: Actively engage with existing and potential clients to understand their metrology needs, challenges, and objectives.
Solution Identification: Utilize your technical knowledge of metrology to recommend appropriate measurement solutions, equipment, and services to meet client requirements.
Product Demonstration: Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase the features and benefits of metrology equipment and services.
Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, becoming a trusted advisor in the metrology field.
Sales Process Management: Manage the entire sales process from prospecting and qualifying leads to closing deals and post-sales support.
Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to identify new sales opportunities.
Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal teams such as marketing, technical support, and product development to ensure alignment in sales strategies and customer satisfaction.
Travel: As an outside sales engineer, you'll likely spend a significant amount of time traveling within the Northern Midwest region to meet with clients, attend industry events, and conduct site visits.
Profile
Requirements:
Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of metrology principles, measurement techniques, and metrology equipment such as coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), optical measurement systems, laser trackers, etc.
Sales Skills: Demonstrated ability to drive sales and meet targets, with excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Customer Focus: A customer-centric approach with a keen understanding of customer needs and the ability to build long-term relationships.
Self-Motivation: Proactive and self-driven with the ability to work independently and manage your time effectively.
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to understand complex technical requirements and propose innovative solutions to address customer challenges.
Bachelor's Degree: Typically, a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is required, although relevant experience may also be considered.
Experience: Prior experience in metrology sales or a similar technical sales role would be advantageous.
