As a Business Development Manager for Utilities Sales you will build relationships and develop plans to increase sales and profitability with National Distribution firms that are Regional or National in scope and influence their purchasing decisions for Utility & Telecom Distribution. The position will be responsible to sell Powerline Hardware range of products.

Job Summary

Build and maintain relationships with National Distribution firms and develop plans to increase sales and profitability for targeted National Distribution firms and make purchasing decisions. Drive sales in this sector by creating, executing and communicating business plans to grow sales for Powerline Hardware.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Develops and maintains business relationships with National Distribution firms & Co Operatives. Strategically plans customer visits to cultivate relationships, perform presentations, offer innovative programs and communicate plans.
  • Researches, develops and acquires large account opportunities. Effectively communicates competitive strengths and develops strategy to acquire competitive business.
  • Develops and executes profitable business plans for managing existing and newly acquired accounts and implements those plans effectively.
  • Negotiates national agreements and rebate programs consistent with management goals.
  • Teams with individuals within inside sales & sales rep, and other key personnel to communicate account plans, Sales target, pricing, and offer assistance to drive sales.
  • Works with the standard engineer for product approval at the IOU & Public Power or end user.
  • Review the current Agents network with their performance metrics & fill up the open territories.
  • Acts as technical advisor for field product quality issues, developing both internal and external corrective action plans, product enhancement feature and following though to full implementation assuring customer is fully satisfied.
  • New Product development and effectively launching it with the sales network and customers along with the existing customer base.
  • Travel as and when needed to forge relationship, plan and participate the tradeshows.

  • Displays the highest level of critical thinking and analysis in bringing successful resolution to high impact, complex, and/or cross department problems. Makes prompt, sound decisions when faced with complex and often contradictory alternatives that result in successful outcomes.
  • Operates with some latitude. Situations may have little or no precedent requiring original or new concepts or approaches without guidance from others. Reaches decisions under conditions of uncertainty.
  • Develops or engages/directs others in developing innovative solutions to important, highly complex strategic and operating problems; cross department considerations are often present.

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or a similar role
- Strong knowledge of software industry trends and technologies
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Exceptional negotiation and communication skills
- Proficiency in Salesforce or other CRM software
- Ability to analyze market data and develop strategic plans
- Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth
- Strong customer relationship management skills
