The Human Resources Manager is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the human resource function at Plymouth Harbor. This position must possess a good knowledge of all position functions in the company and a thorough understanding of the company’s organizational structure as well as extensive knowledge of personnel policy and procedure and federal and state laws and local employment-related ordinances regarding employment practices.
Monday - Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
1. With the VP, develop and administer various human resources plan and procedures for all company personnel; participate in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
2. Monitor the performance evaluation program.
3. Provide insight to Talent Acquisition Specialist as requested on open positions information.
4. Assist with onboarding of new team members, including assigning appropriate payroll permissions access.
5. Facilitate team member relations counseling, as requested.
6. Establish and maintain records and reports. Participate in administrative staff meetings and attend other meetings, as requested.
7. Evaluate reports, decisions, and results of departmental initiatives in relation to established goals. Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
8. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and ordinances including distribution of annual notices.
9. Manage personnel files in accordance with established procedures.
10. Perform benefits administration to include monthly enrollment meetings, annual open enrollment, change reporting, day-to-day troubleshooting and assistance for team members and annual re-evaluation of policies for cost-effectiveness.
11. Administer Plymouth Harbor’s workers’ compensation and unemployment compensation programs. Process and post the OSHA 300 & 300A logs.
12. Assist the VP in creating the HR annual budget.
13. Maintain up to date labor budget spreadsheet for annual budgeting purposes.
14. Assist with evaluation/implementation of new HRIS as needed.
15. Respond in a timely manner to requests for employment verifications and from financial institutions.
16. Administer Plymouth Harbor’s Family and Medical Leave policy.
17. Provide information, as requested, with regard to audits.
18. Ensure that filing is up to date.
19. Audit health services personnel files in anticipation of state surveys.
20. Monitor and track Relias training for all non-health services personnel.
21. Assist with policy distribution, as directed.
22. Ensure compliance with health services Level II background checks for current team members.
23. Keep abreast and advise VP of any anticipated changes within the Human Resource landscape that may affect Plymouth Harbor.
24. Maintain and post current federal and state labor law updates.
25. Order team member i.d. badges.
26. Work with Tower Front Desk in assigning parking stickers to all team members and contractors.
27. Enter new hire information into the payroll system.
28. Enter status change forms information into the payroll/HRIS system including distribution of new job descriptions and offer letters.
29. Provide reports, as requested.
30. Compile monthly PPD reports.
31. In conjunction with the Home Care Department, coordinate completion of annual PPD tests for all non-health service team members on a monthly basis.
32. Manage information posted on team member bulletin boards in common areas; remove outdated information in a timely manner.
33. Attend and participate in workshops, seminars, and in-services as approved or required.
34. Maintain work area, equipment, and supplies in a clean, sanitary, and organized manner.
35. Ensure that work areas are neat and confidential materials are properly stored before leaving area on breaks, end of workday, etc.
36. Provide back-up support to the Talent Acquisition Specialist, as needed.
37. In cooperation with the Talent Acquisition Specialist, ensure coverage of the HR Office Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
38. Work safely; complying at all times with Plymouth Harbor safety standards.
39. Call 555 in the event of an emergency.
40. Discharge properly other responsibilities and duties that may be directed by the VP.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position has no supervisory responsibility.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, preferred.
Experience:- Minimum three years in the field of Human Resources.
General:- Must have good organizational skills.
- Must be a detail-oriented person and able to perform duties with great accuracy on a daily basis.
- Must have excellent personal skills, demonstrating the ability to conduct oneself in a non-controversial style; a style that inspires the respect of others and promotes a sense of trust in the individual’s competence.
- Must have good communication skills, speaking, writing, and listening.
- Must be fluent in English; ability to communicate in workplace Spanish desired.
- Must have excellent computer skills and be familiar with Microsoft Office programs with emphasis on Outlook, Word, and Excel, with the ability to learn and use proprietary software as required.
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS
- Must be certified in the field of Human Resources, i.e., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP or have the ability to obtain certification.
