The ideal person is results-driven, focused on driving growth, and expanding our market presence. With a strategic and proactive approach, this role is responsible for identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities, cultivating key client relationships, and driving revenue generation.

You should have a deep understanding in developing partnerships in the following sectors:

  • Entertainment : Familiarity with launch events, Upfronts, and the dynamics of the entertainment world.
  • Lifestyle and Fashion : Knowledge of trends, consumer behavior, and brand positioning.
  • Wellness : Experience in warehousing and influencer marketing, particularly in the realm of nutritional supplements (vitamins, powders and herbal extracts), functional beverages (energy drinks, herbal teas, probiotic drinks), and beauty and personal care.
  • Life Stage Segments : Understanding the unique needs of life stages such as the college experience, getting married, having children, and retirement.
  • CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) and Ambient Foods : Insight into product distribution, market trends, and consumer preferences.
  • Public Relations (PR) Agencies : Collaboration with PR firms and advertising agencies.

The Business Development Executive (BDE) will leverage market insights, industry trends, and a deep understanding of our products or services to develop and execute effective business development strategies. This role aims to foster long-term partnerships, exceed sales targets, and contribute to the overall success and profitability of the organization through the acquisition of new clients and strategic business initiatives.

Some of the things you’ll be doing…

  • Independently generate new business opportunities from prospective clients.
  • Lead discovery sessions to comprehensively understand customer needs and pain points.
  • Deliver engaging product demonstrations, utilizing storytelling techniques to showcase the unique value our solutions bring to clients.
  • Highlight how PIMS's offerings directly address and resolve client challenges.
  • Consistently meet and exceed individual sales targets on a quarterly and annual basis.
  • Demonstrate how PIMS offerings can effectively contribute to achieving the client's business objectives.
  • Develop comprehensive action plans for key accounts, identifying immediate and long-term revenue opportunities.
  • Monitor and identify trends in the marketplace.
  • Share insights with internal teams, including sales management, marketing, and product teams.
  • Collaborate with Client Service teams to align efforts and ensure the achievement of clients' objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

The Successful Candidate Will Have a Background In:

  • Take accountability for achieving company revenue growth with a target ranging from $2 million to $5 million.
  • Collaborate closely with the VP Sales & Client Experience to develop detailed quarterly and annual sales plans. These plans should outline clear strategies and tactics designed to reach predetermined revenue goals and quotas.
  • Implement the sales plans effectively, ensuring alignment with broader company objectives.
  • Provide regular updates on the status of existing and potential business opportunities. This includes timely reporting on closed deals (both won and lost), revenue projections, and any obstacles encountered in the process.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of closed-won and closed-lost business deals. Extract valuable insights from both successful and unsuccessful transactions to inform future strategies and improve the overall sales approach.
  • Develop and present accurate revenue projections, keeping all stakeholders informed about the financial trajectory of the business. Timely and precise projections contribute to effective decision-making at various levels.
  • Identify obstacles hindering revenue goals and collaborate with relevant teams to find effective solutions. Proactively address challenges to maintain a smooth and upward revenue trajectory.

  • 5 years of successful industry and agency sales experience with consistent overachievement
  • An understanding of solutions selling and social media and how this can be applied to help clients achieve their goals.
  • Experience successfully selling eCommerce, consulting, and advertising solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as great listening skills
  • Goal oriented personality, committed to success and a strong work ethic.
  • Must be comfortable calling on all levels of an organization along with the ability to lead senior level meetings.
  • Superb verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, including outstanding persuasion and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate up and down an organization.
  • Extremely detail oriented, comfortable working independently, extremely well organized, have the technical aptitude to learn new businesses and platforms.
  • Ability to effectively communicate best practices internally.
  • Experience working in face-paced, growth stage companies.
  • Experience with Salesforce.com or other CRM systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree, with a focus on business preferred.
  • Willingness to travel

The base salary range for this role is $65,000-$100,000.00. This position is eligible for incentive compensation up to 100% of base salary. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each specific candidate; including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, applicable certifications, and geographic work location. This may vary depending on living location and market rate.
