The Creative Support Specialist position is a unique blend of administrative and hands-on creative tasks. In this vital support role you will work closely with the Prop Master in the acquisition, maintenance and creation of PETA’s various demo posters, costumes, props and other materials.
This position is perfect for someone who is a master at all things clerical but craves an opportunity to flex their creative muscle on occasion.
Position Objective:
To support staff members in the Production department in coordinating and producing print items, costumes and props
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
• Undertake administrative tasks for the department, such as running errands, filing, mailing, photocopying, coordinating shipments, and handling invoice processing, to support overall operations
• Facilitate the acquisition of costumes and props, ensuring both quality and alignment with project visions
• Efficiently manage the scheduling, routing, and purchasing of all assigned production projects, guaranteeing timely completion and competitive pricing
• Keep project tracking systems, such as Asana, up-to-date, ensuring clear visibility on progress
• Serve as a key point of communication among designers, external vendors, the mail room, and project requesters
• Conduct thorough quality control checks on all received print materials to maintain high standards
• Contribute to brainstorming sessions and support the Props Master in the creation and maintenance of department projects, including simple props, demonstration materials, and media mailings
• Execute additional responsibilities as directed by the manager or director, adapting to evolving departmental needs
Requirements
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Meticulous organizational abilities, demonstrating reliability and keen attention to detail
• Effective and comprehensive research capabilities
• Demonstrated capacity to work autonomously, effectively managing multiple tasks concurrently
• Proven competence in performing well under pressure and adhering to tight deadlines
• Experience in print production (either offset or quick-copy shop) or a related design field is beneficial but not required
• Artistic or creative experience is advantageous but not required
• Capable of lifting and transporting items weighing up to 25 pounds regularly
• Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, hold a valid U.S. driver's license with a minimum of three years driving experience, and maintain a satisfactory driving record
• Full vaccination and booster for COVID-19 recommended
• A strong commitment to the mission and goals of the organization is essential
