The Nueces Center for Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities (MHID) is dedicated to helping the residents of Nueces County who are living with mental illness and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities. We serve over 10,000 people each year with psychiatric and behavioral health care outpatient services, counseling, training, employment assistance, housing support, homeless outreach, children's mental health care and more.

Salary: $53,335.67

Full-Time, 40 Hour Work Week, Paid Bi-weekly

General DescriptionUnder the general supervision of the Chief Accountant,with latitude to carry out the functions of the position, performs advanceprofessional accounting work. Is responsible for maintaining the integrity andaccuracy of the 1115 Healthcare Transformation Waiver Program financialrecords. Maintains the Centers Fixed Assets records, Census Reports, AllocationDistribution Tables and Health Insurance Benefits Reconciliation. Assists inthe preparation of the annual budget and performing analytical reviews of theCenter's financial data as instructed by the Chief Accountant. Maintainingbilling and reconciliations on various grants and programs. Provides backup supervisionto payroll staff.

Minimum QualificationsGraduation from an accredited four year college oruniversity with major course work in accounting. Experience performing or supervising variousaccounting functions. Prefer a Master's Degree in Accounting or CPA. Two years'experience in governmental, healthcare accounting and/or auditing. Must have reliable transportation. May usepersonal vehicle to conduct business. Must have a valid driver's license at alltimes, liability insurance and a good driving record.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge offinance administration, budget control and fiscal accounting.
• Knowledge ofgenerally accepted accounting principles and procedures affecting themaintenance of accounting records and automated accounting systems.
• Knowledge ofgovernmental accounting.
• Ability tointerpret laws and regulations related to fiscal operations.
• Ability ofnetwork server based applications/accounting software maintenance andadministration.
• High level ofskill in Microsoft Excel and other standard software.
• In the course of being employed, understands andimplements trauma informed care practices.
