The Nueces Center for MentalHealth and Intellectual Disabilities (MHID) is dedicated to helping theresidents of Nueces County who are living with mental illness and/orintellectual and developmental disabilities. We serve over 10,000 people eachyear with psychiatric and behavioral health care outpatient services,counseling, training, employment assistance, housing support, homelessoutreach, children's mental health care and more.

Salary: "Please note that the job posting rate for this position is $20.85 to $23.12, the salary offered will follow the starting salary guidelines which are typically made at or near the minimum of the salary range. However, a salary may be negotiated above the minimum range depending on applicable years of experience and qualifications."

General Description
Performs psychosocialrehabilitation planning and instructional work. Responsible for delivery ofrehabilitative training and case management services for assigned caseload;coordination of consumer's needs in order to maintain stability in thecommunity and achieve independence; crisis prevention and intervention. Performs complex professional duties relatedto the provision of outpatient mental health services while incorporatingindividualized treatment planning. Underthe general supervision of the ACT Team Leader, identifies clients'rehabilitation and service coordination needs and provides the necessaryinstruction in teaching self-help, self-care and skills according to the needsoutlined in the client evaluations. Assists clients in attaining their optimumlevels of independence and recovery. Collects, prepares, and reviews case data used to determine clienteligibility for financial, medical, and/or social services. Services provided to adults of all ages witha priority population diagnosis of mental illness who exhibit seriousemotional, behavioral and/or mental disorder. Services are performed in thecommunity, and in the homes the majority of the time, minimally in the officesetting.
Minimum Qualifications
Aminimum of a bachelor's or advance degree from an accredited college oruniversity with a major in a social, behavioral, or human service fieldincluding, but not limited to, psychology, social work, medicine, nursing, rehabilitation,counseling, sociology, human development, gerontology, educational psychology,and education.
Experience in social and rehabilitative services work or inteaching and counseling persons with disabilities. Valid Texas driver's licensewith good driving record.
Preferred: Plus, one to two years of work experience inrehabilitation services.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
