The NYS Sheriffs’ Association is seeking an experienced part-time Administrative Assistant to assist with multiple priorities simultaneously, supporting staff in an administrative capacity.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Assist in event and meeting planning, by working with the assigned staff to coordinate meeting locations, attendees, registration, meeting materials and other items requested by meeting participants/offices
· Answer general questions received via various platforms and mediums and as necessary refer matters to appropriate staff. Take the initiative to answer questions and resolve problems.
· Provide support for special projects, which may include researching matters, compiling data and information and completing weekly reports to partners
-Manage incoming and outgoing mail
-Manage membership database and information to members
-Participate in banking and filing activities as requested
· Engage in special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Must be detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Must be proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook) and have experience with Internet research. Must be a self-starter, take initiative, and work well in a fast-paced environment.
· Familiarity with WEBEX, Zoom and/or Microsoft Teams is preferred
· Ability to work independently, as well as within a team.
