Narrative Strategies LLC is Hiring a Managing Director Near Washington, DC
About the role: Narrative seeks a Managing Director to join our team of communications and public affairs professionals. This individual will lead several highly integrated, client-facing account teams – coordinating staff and external partners to ensure Narrative delivers premium client service while meeting (and exceeding) the stated campaign objectives. Primary responsibilities include client management, team management and mentorship, business development, oversight of written content, strategy development, and leadership in firm initiatives. As a member of the Senior Leadership team, this individual will help to shape company direction, process, and policy.
The ideal candidate should possess:
- An understanding of the nuances of strategic communications, public affairs, and campaign management
- 10 years of management, agency, communications, journalism, and/or political experience
- Strong analytical, writing, editing, research, proofreading, presentation, and management skills
- Demonstrated experience designing, operationalizing, and leading effective campaign and communications strategies that impact the public policy and/or business development objectives of clients—bringing creativity and the ability to identify strategic opportunities
- Enthusiasm for mentorship and staff development; commitment to responsive, civil, accountable leadership; and encouragement of staff to take ownership, initiative, and action
- A record of successes and/or innovation in communications and advocacy
- Demonstrated capacity for proactive problem-solving and ability to manage complicated situations
- An ability to effectively partner with other firms, vendors, or external stakeholders
- Commitment to teamwork, positive working environments, and collaboration with teammates to deliver successes together
- A desire to pursue business development and support the continued growth of Narrative
