Why MYSI Corporation?
A mission-driven organization for purpose-driven people. MYSI exists to help youth, seniors and families reach their greater potential by providing quality programs and services, which focus on empowering youth, seniors and families to achieve independence.
MYSI Corporation was founded by a group of Methodist Men with an initial focus to eradicate homelessness by providing shelter care, temporary housing and community-based case management support for ‘at risk’ youth, adults and families who had no or limited housing resources.
MYSI operates its programs and services under the simple principles of integrity and excellence. MYSI adheres to a “Code of Values” and strives for the highest degree of professionalism.
What you can expect:
The Director of Programs (“DP”) will provide leadership and direction to fulfill MYSI’s programmatic mission, amplifying its services and reach. The DP will elevate the services MYSI provides to achieve even greater levels of impact, influence, and innovation – knowing that these external indicators derive from a healthy organization with talented staff, strong partnerships, and a solid reputation in the field.
The DP will promote MYSI’s mission and strive to ensure the delivery of high-quality social services with a focus on cultural competency. The DP must possess emotional maturity and cultural awareness to effectively serve and advocate for these populations. Reporting to the CEO, the DP is expected to provide leadership for the agency, so it may successfully achieve its vision and mission. The DP must possess the ability to build relationships with partner agenciesand the multi-disciplinary staff.The DP will also have primary responsibility for quality assurance and supervision of MYSI’s licensed child welfare personnel. The DP will be a highly visible member of the community, representing MYSI among peer organizations, community leaders, and other key stakeholders in Chicago and beyond.
How you will make an impact:
The DP must be able to build and sustain excellent relationships at multiple levels internally and with the various external constituencies including, but not limited to staff andbroader communitymembers and a range of partner agenciesaccross Chicagoland.
Directly supervise multiple staff across the organization throughout various departments.
Demonstrate strong people management skills, understanding what motivates staff and clients alike.
Develop programmatic changes with an entrepreneurial spirit and foster fresh new ideas
Responsible for overall compliance with program requirements, direct supervision of program supervisory staff, and for setting and achieving census targets for MYSI’s programs
Effectively communicate with people from different philosophies, backgrounds, and cultures.
Capable of elevating operational excellence in a fast-paced environment.
Affect organizational change by demonstrating strong process management skills, and a strong ability to collaborate and create efficiencies across departments
Responsible for implementing evolving models to stay relevantto thecommunities MYSI serves.

What you will bring to MYSI Corporation:
Minimum Qualifications:
A master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or other comparable acceptable field in human services in accordance with Illinois Department of Children and Family Services Rule 401
Candidates for this role must have their CWEL license or be able to attain it easily and/or have a CYCIS ID.
Must have seven (7) years of professional experience in Social Services, including at least (3) three years developing and leading programs and at least (4) four years supervisory experience
Excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Highly motivated individual who demonstratesorganizational, planning, and interpersonal skills. Initiative and the ability to follow through are essential.
Strong technical and analytical skills, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
Must be able to successfully pass background check.
Believes in the mission and values of MYSI and demonstrates a desire to make a positive impact on those who need it most.
Experience working with clients living with disabilities and in residential settings.
At least some experience working with the LGBTQ community.
