As they embark on their journey to implement Workday, a cutting-edge cloud-based human capital management and finance software, they are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Director to lead this transformative initiative.

They are seeking a seasoned Program Director to oversee the successful implementation of Workday across their organization. The Program Director will be responsible for leading a cross-functional team, collaborating with stakeholders, managing timelines and ensuring the smooth execution of the Workday implementation project. This role requires a deep understanding of Workday functionality, project management expertise and strong leadership skills to drive alignment and achieve project objectives. This is a remote role that would require some travel to Chicago.

Program Director Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end implementation of Workday, including project planning, scoping, resource allocation and execution
• Develop and manage project timelines, milestones and deliverables to ensure on-time and within-budget completion of the implementation
• Build and lead a high-performing cross-functional team, including project managers, functional leads, technical experts and external consultants
• Collaborate with key stakeholders across departments to gather requirements, prioritize initiatives and align project goals with organizational objectives
• Provide strategic guidance and recommendations to senior leadership on Workday best practices, system configuration and process optimization
• Oversee change management activities to ensure successful adoption of Workday across the organization, including training, communication and stakeholder engagement
• Manage vendor relationships, contracts and service level agreements to ensure the timely delivery of quality services and solutions
• Monitor project risks, issues and dependencies, and develop mitigation strategies to address potential roadblocks and ensure project success
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives post-implementation to optimize Workday functionality, enhance user experience and maximize business value
• Communicate regularly with executive leadership and project sponsors to provide updates on project status, milestones and key achievements

Program Director Requirements:

• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale, complex projects with cross-functional teams and tight deadlines
• Extensive knowledge of Workday modules, functionalities and best practices, with hands-on experience in configuration, testing and deployment
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams, drive collaboration and foster a culture of accountability and excellence
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and senior executives
• Demonstrated expertise in change management, including developing communication plans, delivering training sessions and managing organizational change
• Experience working with external vendors, consultants and implementation partners to deliver high-quality solutions and services
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, evaluate alternatives and implement effective solutions
• PMP, Agile, or other relevant project management certifications are highly desirable
