MORAVIAN HOME INCORPORATED is Hiring a Development Manager Near Salem, NC

Job Summary:

The Development Manager plays a critical role in supporting the mission of Salemtowne by coordinating annual giving campaigns, maintaining the donor database, conducting prospect research, and providing administrative support to the Development Department.

Essential Job Functions:

Annual Giving Program Support

  • Works closely with the Vice President to support and coordinate all aspects of the Annual Campaigns including mailings, events, memorials, newsletters, and special donor communications.
  • Generates reports and analyzes fundraising data to inform decision-making and strategy development.
  • Collaborates with the Marketing Department to ensure consistency in messaging across all materials.
  • Coordinates stewardship efforts utilizing the gift reports, enter contacts in the database, and produce monthly contact reports from the database.

Donor Database Management

  • Creates and updates donor records in donor management software.
  • Conducts regular prospect research on current donors and prospects, helping to build the pipeline of higher-level annual giving and major gift prospects, utilizing online databases and other sources.
  • Assists with other data entry and records updates as assigned by the Vice President.

Administrative Support to the Development Department

  • Serves as the backup for all duties and responsibilities, especially gift processing and producing acknowledgment letters.
  • Assists with events planned by the department as needed.
  • Answers calls as needed to promote a helpful and responsive relationship with the public.

Compliance Adherence

  • Completes annual compliance and HIPAA training and exhibits behavior as set forth by the Code of Compliance in the performance of their duties.
  • Adheres to the Organizations Policies and Procedures regarding the Compliance Program of the organization and is timely in reporting any possible concerns.
  • Follows all local, state, and federal regulations as they pertain to their position.
  • Adheres to the Organization’s Policies and Procedures covering Privacy and Security in Compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Supports Salemtowne Shines culture and philosophy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or as may be required to meet emergency situations.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficiency in donor management software (e.g., Raiser's Edge) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of fundraising best practices and industry trends.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, fundraising, communications, or related field.
  • 3 years of experience in fundraising or development roles, with demonstrated success in annual giving campaigns and donor stewardship.

Physical Requirements:

  • Stand, sit, climb stairs, walk, lift, carry, and push.
  • Sensory demands include vision correctable to 20/20, touch using fine finger movement/dexterity, smell, and hear correctable to normal range.

Work Environment:

Works in a clean, well-lit, and environmentally controlled office.
