BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Milliman, Inc. is seeking a BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER to work in a fast-growing department in Omaha. With over 70 years in the consulting business, we have an excellent reputation for superior tools and service to our clients. The Omaha Health & Welfare practice was started 21 years ago to serve large employers in the design and administration of their employee benefit insurance plans. Since then, it has expanded to include underwriting to PEOs and MEWAs and now personal benefit plans. Much of our success depends on our employees and our culture that recognizes and rewards employees for the value they bring to our business in general and our clients in particular. The atmosphere is business casual with 85 other professionals in an upscale office setting at 180th & Dodge in Omaha. This position requires individuals to be in the office.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Business Development Manager plays a crucial role in the ongoing success of our practice, specifically, new sales and revenue growth. The primary challenges are the ability to position our products and services with a powerful value proposition, close prospects, find and establish new distribution channels, and interact with people with varied personalities and communication styles. We work with clients in all areas of the U.S., and this position will have some travel requirements depending on the client assignments and opportunities. Some of the specific duties are listed below:

  • Marketing, presenting and selling of our platform of consulting and underwriting services, especially Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangements (ICHRAs).
  • Building relationships with our primary prospects such as health insurance brokers and Professional Employment Organizations (PEOs).
  • Communicating client expectations to our staff to ensure the delivery of our services and fees meets or exceeds our client’s expectations.
  • Collecting feedback from our clients and prospective clients to assist with the enhancement of existing products and development of new products.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.S. or B.A.
  • Over three years of sales experience required, especially exceeding sales targets.
  • Previous experience developing call lists, new distribution channels, and cold calling.
  • Previous insurance experience preferred but not required.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Exceptional marketing, networking and communication skills. Friendly and engaging personality that enjoys meeting various types of people from all areas of the country.
  • Ability to portray a professional image consistent with Milliman's role as a consultant with phone calls, e-mails, and other correspondence.
  • Ability to work independently within a team-based consulting environment.
  • Strong skills with CRMs, MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn new skills, particularly computer programs, and offer input.

SALARY

LOCATION

This position is based out of the Milliman office in Omaha, NE. Candidates hired into this role must be willing to work onsite full-time.
