Job Summary

Paradise Valley Community College (PVCC) is seeking a Technology Support Specialist who works in-person within the Information Technology division in the Desktop Support Department and provides technical assistance to a diverse population of students, faculty, and staff with the deployment of computer systems, workstations, cell phones, tablets, software applications, and technology security updates.

Essential Functions

60% Provides specialized support for desktops, classroom technology, audio visual systems, remote meeting platforms and/or voip phone systems; responds to requests and help desk tickets
15% Maintains system inventory, documentation, storage and security of equipment; initiates orders for parts as required
15% Performs advanced troubleshooting, hardware repair and maintenance of devices
10% Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED and three years of experience with desktop user support or technical support for equipment, networks, systems, telecommunications, or technology security, appropriate to assignment.
There is no substitution or equivalency allowable for the High School Diploma or GED.
Desired Qualifications

1. Three years' experience providing technical support in an educational environment.
2. Three or more years working with macOS and Windows platforms: deployment of images, hardware repair, maintenance and support
3. Two or more of years' experience working with a software distribution systems, group policy (SCCM, JAMF, etc)
4. Experience configuring and deploying various models of Tablets and Smartphones (Apple, Android, etc)
5. Experience with Audio Video: Crestron classroom technology systems, remote conferencing platforms and support of VOIP devices
6. Experience with Google workplace productivity tools, Microsoft 365 products and Adobe products.
7. Experience writing technical documentation, inventory management and maintenance tracking.
Special Working Conditions
  • Will require possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D Driver's License or other state license; employee must meet district minimum standards regarding driving:
  • Travel to campus during interview/selection process will be at candidate's own expense
  • MCCCD does not sponsor individuals for any type of work visas
  • Will be required to travel or be assigned to all MCCCD locations
  • May require travel or work at the Black Mountain campus
  • May require numerous evenings or weekends
  • May require prolonged periods of standing, sitting and viewing a computer screen
  • Will require lifting and climbing a ladder
  • May be required to lift or carry up to #25 lbs
