TITLE: IT Support Specialist
(12 month position)
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
To maintain technology and network equipment in operating condition and assists in resolving software application problems
PRINCIPAL DUTIES: (essential functions)
Assists with troubleshooting, planning for and the installation of technology equipment, network equipment, and user applications
Monitors, configures, maintains and repairs technology and network equipment
Maintains and documents work records and files
Assists with the technology and network equipment inventory
Transports equipment, supplies and materials to appropriate job sites
Assists in user training and information updates for network users
Performs other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Knowledge of computers, operating systems and networks
Knowledge of technology equipment used in educational settings
Knowledge of software applications and multiple computer platforms
Knowledge of tools and equipment used in computer installation, repair and maintenance
Knowledge of troubleshooting and diagnostic practices and procedures
Skill in operating computers and various software applications
Skill in troubleshooting, installing and maintaining computer hardware and software
Skill in troubleshooting, installing and maintaining technology equipment
Skill in communicating orally and in writing
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others
Must be able to work independently without any supervision
Must be able to work effectively and efficiently within a team environment
Excellent customer services skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Able to perform the following physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation: critical sensory requirements include general vision, corrected to 20/20, hear or listen in the normal range (corrected) and speak and give directions clearly. Able to walk, stand, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, lift (exerting force up to 75 pounds), carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma and six (6) months computer network installation or computer maintenance work experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skill, four year degree, preferred.
REQUIRED LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Valid Arizona Driver’s License.
