Lutèce. is Hiring a Pastry Sous Chef Near Washington, DC

Lutèce is a service-driven restaurant located in Georgetown. We focus on natural wines and contemporary, food that is reflective of the seasons. We are a small restaurant, and aim to be the 'neighborhood' place that is sought out by locals and world travelers alike.
We are looking for talented and dedicated Pastry Sous Chef to join our team. Candidates must have a drive to make delicious food, work with good spirit and enjoy being a part of a team.
When joining the team at Lutèce, you become part of a small, tight-knit family that gives the best we have to offer our guests and each other. We offer health insurance, dential, vision, PTO, 401(k), dining discounts.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Executive Pastry Chef to develop new and seasonal desserts and pastries
  • Daily production of all dessert components, including but not limited to viennoiserie, pastries, and ice creams
  • Expediting service, running the pastry station during nightly dinner service 
  • Manage production schedule of all dessert items 
  • Manage inventory for pastry team, including receiving and ordering ingredients
  • Ensure all Health & Safety standards are being met on a daily basis
  • Strictly adhere to recipes and standards for pastry preparation and plating 

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Baker, Pastry Chef, or Pasty Sous
  • Understanding of food safety practices
  • Excellent time-management skills
  • Ability to remain focused in a fast-paced environment
  • Team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude
  • Night and weekend availability

Experience, Education and Certifications: 

  • Baking: 2 years (Required)
  • Pastry/ Culinary degree preferred
  • DC Health Dept License preferred
  • At least 2 years managing a kitchen staff or overseeing production
