Pastis - DC is Hiring a Pastry Sous Chef Near Washington, DC

The beloved New York City restaurant Pastis will be coming to the Union Market District in Washington, DC. Pastis DC will feature elements similar to the original such as the restaurant’s classic curved zinc bar outfitted with signature subway tiles, vintage mirrors with handwritten daily specials, and a mosaic-tiled floor. Guests can find the classic bistro fare Pastis is known for, with a menu that offers brunch, lunch, and dinner.

We are seeking a skilledPastry Sous Chefwho is passionate about pastry arts, has a lead-by-example management style, and is committed to team success!

This position offers a comprehensive package including:

Desired skills and experience:

  • 1-2 years of supervisory or management experience in service-oriented, culinary-driven restaurants
  • Passion for French cuisine, classic techniques, and impeccable execution
  • Experience in dessert, ice cream, and pastry production
  • Strong communication, organizational and administrative skills
  • Prior experience training and mentoring a diverse hourly pastry cook team
  • Degree in Baking and/or Pastry from an accredited culinary university is preferred but not required
