PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Director of Finance is responsible for leading the finance and accounting functions of the property to ensure the hotel achieves profitability. This position will prepare financial records and reports, such as income statements, balance sheet, and cash flow statement, and ensures the timeliness and accuracy of all reports. This role will conduct inspections on a regular basis to ensure compliance with Lotte Hotel's regulations. As well, the person in this role must carry out various projects as required by the Managing Director and Corporate and other senior personnel while providing necessary support for the business operation in general; as well as other duties as assigned.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or related field highly preferred.

EXPERIENCE: 5 or more years of work experience in a leadership finance and/or accounting role; experience should include the direct supervision of employees. Hospitality experience preferred.

• Must possess the ability to analyze large volume of complex financial information from many sources and create reports, forecasts projections.
• Must possess advanced knowledge of regional accounting laws
• Must have an advanced understanding of revenue and expense management GAAP principals. Understanding of accounting operations including A/R, A/P, Income audit & cash handling controls, purchasing guidelines.
• Must be able to train and lead accounting team, and ensure all team members are engaged
• Understanding of guest room and F&B operations
• Understanding of Lotte Hotel's financial policies and vision
• Must have excellent communication skills. Must be able to receive instructions and make reports with accuracy.
• Must show basic computer proficiency such as with MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Birchstreet, Micros, Opera, ADP, Profitsage, Canary, Sun Systems, Datavision, etc.)
• Must be knowledgeable about applicable laws regarding the operation of hotels and restaurants.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Possess a gracious, friendly, and fun demeanor.
• Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment and have a high-level attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and to partner with others to promote an environment of teamwork.
• Results oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
