Full time Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist
LVC is seeking a new full time Assistant/Receptionist Monday-Friday.
The ideal candidate will have Veterinary office experience, have the ability to learn quickly, both with assistance and independently.
Typical hours will be from 8am-4pm, but may vary and be longer or shorter. Although weekends are currently not required, they may be in the future.
About our practice
LVC is a two doctor, small animal practice. We are a fast paced, client driven clinic. Dr. Lindsey has been practicing Veterinary Medicine since 1967, he has a loyal client base and continues to grow with new clients.
LVC currently staffs 6 people, all of whom are dedicated to the care of our patients and the continued growth of the company. The right candidate for this position will be able to interact with all members of our existing staff without issue. We are seeking a candidate that is seeking a long-term position.
A paid one-week trial period will take place before any final hiring decision is made. An ability and desire to learn and grow as an individual and within the company is key. Duties will include:
Assisting in rooms with animal intake. Working with clients both over the phone and in person to ensure they are receiving follow up. Prepping for surgeries, cleaning the clinic, assisting in all aspects of care for the patients. Answering phones, taking detailed notes during conversations both with clients and during exams, filling medications, filing, reviewing charts, daily client follow up as needed, working with insurance companies, inventory review, retrieving animals from client’s cars, basic intake notes, cleaning.
Required Skills:
Experience in the veterinary field, preferably small animal.
Ability to multi task
Ability to work in a sometimes-chaotic environment
Ability to handle high stress situations with confidence and remain calm
Ability to work well with others
Ability to take fast and detailed notes (on computer)
Ability to learn quickly with little instruction or on your own
Knowledge or/ability to learn core medications and dosages
Self-starter
Problem solving
Basic math skills
Professional mannerisms and appearance (Scrubs are required)
Bonus Skills:
Experience with Veterinary software, specifically Idexx NEO
Willingness to go above and beyond
CURES filing experience
International Health Certificate experience
Bilingual
Controlled substance license, or ability to obtain one
