This team is hybrid from our Alpharetta, Georgia location. The team is expected to be in the office on a hybrid schedule, at least 1 time per week but that will likely increase over time. About the Role The main function of a customer accounting specialist is to interact with customers and colleagues on past due balances, account inquiries and resolve complaints. A typical customer accounting specialist is responsible for payment by end of month, determining the client’s issue, offer possible solutions, collaborate with internal departments, or providing follow-up as needed. Customer accounting agents are inbound and outbound daily with emails/calls. This is an email and call driven position interfacing with customers and colleagues on balances due. Responsibilities Approving the resolution of customers’ service or billing complaints by authorizing activities such as refunding money and adjusting bills. Acting as escalation point for clients/customers. Approving the referral of unresolved customer grievances to designated departments for further investigation. Reviewing, monitoring and auditing records of customer interactions and transactions, recording details of inquiries, complaints, and comments, as well as actions taken. Obtaining and examining all relevant information to assess validity of complaints and to determine possible causes. Requirements Have a High School diploma or GED required, ideal candidate has some college education Have 3 YS of experience in accounting, collections or customer service/ billing required Demonstrate verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, customer service skills and interpersonal skills. Have an exceptional ability to work independently and manage one’s time. Have an exceptional ability to accurately document and record customer/client information. Possess exceptional leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback. Have previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills required.
